The investor’s category has now closed to new applicants. If you wish to come to the UK to work or invest, or you are already here in another immigration category and wish to extend your stay, you now need to apply under Tier 1 of our points-based system.
The information in this section is only relevant to you if you are already in the United Kingdom under the investor’s category and now wish to apply to live here permanently (settlement).

About Investor Visa
The investor scheme is designed to allow high net worth persons make a substantial financial investment in the United Kingdom.
Who can apply
Different work permit schemes (soon to be replaced by sponsored workers (Tier 2), you do not need a job offer to apply under the investor category. When you apply you are awarded points based on your ability to invest £1,000,000 in the United Kingdom.
You can apply under the investor category now if you are:
- In the UK and want to make an initial application as an investor (known as switching);
- Already in the UK as a tier 1 investor or as an investor under the former category, and want to extension your permission to stay within the tier 1 investor category;
- Applying for permission to enter the United Kingdom (known as 'entry clearance') under the investor category.

The latest fee of investor Visa which has announced the UK border agency is £205.
